Luke Dame is a songwriter based in northern Vermont. Dame learned the guitar as a child by playing in the church band. By age 14, Dame started playing in bands, making his first attempts at writing songs. Throughout his teens and early twenties, Dame involved himself in multiple musical projects. In 2020, he gave up music altogether, facing a writer’s block he couldn’t overcome. In 2024, Dame and his girlfriend took a leap of faith and moved out of Seattle and across the USA to a small apartment in Vermont. Dame faced difficulty with adjusting from city to rural life, making friends, and dealing with seemingly never ending darkness. This proved to be the perfect creative setting: in 2025, after five silent years, Dame wrote more than 30 new songs. Partnered with longtime friend and producer Koby Nelson, Dame began recording these newly written tracks and also began to sift through recordings from previous projects. Dame found himself with an abundance of songs ready for release.

The subject matter of Dame’s music varies, with common themes being overcoming religious guilt and his loss of faith, living with wanderlust, and undoing the habits of generations past. Above all, Dame’s songs are honest. At a younger age, Dame attached monetary success and status as markers of how “good” his art was. At this stage in his life, Dame simply has stories to tell, and he’ll tell whoever will listen.
